RL does Spring perfect

Ralph Lauren is one of my favorite designers. He always finds a perfect balance of class and color. Try this look for spring. you could even dress it down by loosing the tie and throwing on a nice canvas sneaker like a Jack Purcell or a nice leather strapped flip-flop.

Check out RL's Sring look for 2008.

Missed a loop: Attention to Detail

So...I am on my usual 2 block walk from my metro stop to the office and as usual I am observing the well dressed and the not so well dressed while mentally offering tips to those that I think could benefit from it. That's just what I do. I look for inspiration in others and often times I find it, but today, at least this morning I was left uninspired.

Though uninspired I was reminded of a key point in fashion.

I was behind a guy walking and as I gazed down to check my blackberry I noticed he was wearing an amazing black loafer with a brown sole. They looked very Gucci and very well could have been. Anyhow, as I began to move upward to view the rest of his ensemble I noticed that he had missed a loop. Now we all do this at some point, I know and I'm not faulting the guy at all. It just reminded me that attention to detail is crucial when it comes to fashion, especially men's fashion.

So just a reminder: Attention to Detail often times can make the difference between looking good and looking great!

A good in-vestment

I am pleased that vest have made their way back into the fashion of the day. A vest is a timeless and classic piece that can be dressed up or down.

I just purchased a four-seasons brown 3 pocket vest from goodwill (yes- goodwill. A bit of tailoring and a dry clean and you're good to go) and I am loving it.

As seen above Jcrew does an excellent job with the cut and shape of their vest. When wearing a vest you want to make sure that your belt is not totally covered while standing. If you notice in the picture to the left the buckle of the belt peaks slightly through. Also, in the picture to the right you'll notice the slight flash of belt strap...perfect fit.

In-VEST,
